Great place to take a dip at the beach - especially in the summertime when there's a lot of seaweed on the other side of the island!
Don't swim out too far - the current can be pretty strong past the rock jetty and the little concrete pier.

Saluté! On The Beach, owned by the same wonderful locals as Blue Heaven, offers some of the best fresh food in Key West. I love the salad topped with blackened yellowtail snapper and the tender calamari served in the marinara sauce. After lunch (or before dinner!), play volleyball, go for a swim, or just relax here on Higg's Beach. There is so much to do around here, you can make a whole day of it!
Don't miss the Key Lime Pie here with the mile-high meringue - it's the same as Blue Heaven! Nearby, you can pick up a game of pickleball at the public courts, visit the Key West Garden Club (free), walk out on the White Street Pier, visit the Bocce courts and the Key West wildlife center for rescued birds. There's even a dog park!
